WINTER 2023
ARTIFACTS
The Laasya 2023 Board! Each one of the board members were vital to the success of our competition. The person wearing the pink sari to me left is Harshitha, my co-director.

All Hands on Deck!
This February, I directed a collegiate classical dance competition with my dance team, Natya UW. It was an insane amount of work and logistics, with my co-director and I juggling 7 committees, sponsors, vendors, our venue, and most importantly making sure our dancers have the best weekend possible. It took everything we had, but in the end we successfully hosted over 100 dancers over 3 days, managing everything from picking them up from the airport, giving them food and practice spaces, and ensuring everything on competition day ran smoothly.
It was amazing seeing the UW Desi community come together to support this event. People helped out every way they could without needing to be asked twice, because they understood how important this event was to Natya and to representing UW. I'm so proud of the team and am grateful for this once in a lifetime opportunity.
My cheat sheet for the final. As you can see, there's a whole bunch of math, which was a hard learning curve to get past but in the end it made the concepts of ML more intuitive.

Learning about Machine Learning
I took the infamous CSE 446 this quarter, aka machine learning. It took me out of my comfort zone, forcing me to teach myself advanced linear algebra topics and understand complex proofs, but in the end it demystified machine learning for me. Turns out, it's just a lot of math cleverly translated into algorithms.
I got to learn the theory, and practice it with several hands on projects. I learned the absolute fundamentals of ML, but I feel like I can now understand the field better and look into topics by myself now that I have some tools at my disposal to understand papers and articles.
