AUTUMN 2022
ARTIFACTS
An elevator to represent my elevator pitch - something I had to learn how to create this quarter so that I could talk to recruiters at career events.

Career Goals
I made it a point to focus more on my career this quarter. Last year, I went into the job hunting process completely blind, and although I got an internship, I was pretty lucky and realized I needed to put in a lot of work if I wanted a job at company that I could really push myself at.
I attended recruiting events, stayed hours at career fairs, and worked on my elevator pitch until I could perfect it. At the end, I ended up getting an internship at a company I was super excited about. I essentially got the job by going to a recruiting fair and speaking to my soon to be manager. I'm pretty proud of myself for pushing through and going to these events, even when it meant stepping out of my comfort zone. Networking is still one of my weak spots, but I realized that going to events like these and meeting other people who are equally excited about their future careers is a create way to build a community that's not just for friendship or studying.

Dancing outside the lines
This quarter, I made the difficult decision to leave Natya's competing team. The team spends a minimum of 8 hours a week practicing, and with my focus on career this quarter, along with TAing, I realized I just couldn't keep up, and it was one of the hardest choices I had to make.
However, I got the exciting opportunity to be the co-director of a competition that UW gets to host! Just like how I went to competitions last year, teams will be coming to UW and Natya gets to host them. I'm super excited to take this journey, as it combines my passion for dance, project management, and my amazing team who I get to work with to make this a reality. I've actually been working on this since July already and am super excited with how it's been coming together so far.
